Balancing Faith and Daily Life:
Tips for Maintaining a Strong Relationship with God Amidst a Busy Schedule
Life gets messy sometimes. I’ll be the first to admit that I’ve struggled to keep my home organized, my schedule in order, and my spiritual practices consistent. Over the past year, I’ve found it especially challenging to carve out time for daily devotions, prayer, and quiet moments with God. I’ve realized that this disconnection has created a kind of chaos in my life—much like a phone that glitches when its battery is dead. Without being "plugged in" to my Heavenly Father, I start to glitch, too.
I even wrote a song about this season of life, called "Falling From Grace," which is on my album Renewed by Truth. Writing music has become a meaningful creative outlet for me, but I know it’s not a substitute for nurturing my relationship with God. While I occasionally feel moments of renewal—whether through a faith-based podcast, an inspiring sermon, or a friend’s encouraging words—I’m still working on settling back into a dependable rhythm of spiritual connection.
One thing I’ve learned is that everyone’s walk with God is different. Some approach Him with a quiet reverence, while others—like me—come to Him like a child bursting into their father’s arms. Sometimes I pour out my thoughts and feelings, and other times, when words fail me, He simply understands my pain. In those moments, He often guides me toward forgiveness, confession, or simply resting in His presence.
But I’m far from perfect. There have been times when I’ve forgiven someone only to take that forgiveness back in my heart. Those are the moments when I know it’s time to kneel down and have an honest conversation with my Savior, who has forgiven me more times than I can count.
Balancing faith and daily life isn’t easy, especially when distractions abound. As someone with ADHD and a neurodivergent brain, I know how quickly I can get caught up chasing “squirrels”—those endless tasks and responsibilities that demand attention. Like many of you, I have countless plates spinning, and sometimes they come crashing down.
That’s why I want to open this conversation to you. What helps you stay focused on your relationship with God? How do you prioritize quiet time with Him amidst the busyness of life? I’d love to hear your thoughts, tips, and experiences.
Let’s encourage one another as we work to find balance, knowing that God meets each of us where we are. Whether you’re feeling steady or struggling, His grace is always enough. Let’s walk this journey together.

I enjoy having my morning coffee and reading God's word. What I've read will lead to specific prayer at times. I keep a prayer journal for my "heart cries" so I can go back and record the answers to my prayers. Many strongholds have been overcome because of those prayers in. my journals. Thank you Jesus!
I see a verse and instantly see a song in it. Or I might take a prayer and make it into a song. It helps me connect too.
